A few things about myself: This is my first Birch Lane purchase, not to mention first online furniture purchase (without seeing items in person) so I was really nervous about how this was going to turn out. Also, I’m a researcher by training and was a huge skeptic of all the glowing reviews on nearly every product I was interested in (I thought it seemed too good to be true). Nevertheless I took a chance (on Black Friday) and couldn’t be more happy with my purchase! I first fell in love with this style+color chair when I saw it in the Magnolia Home collection but couldn’t rationalize spending $199/per chair. After researching various online sites, including Macys (which had the next closest and best ratings deal), Overstock, etc, I found them on Birch Lane for 1/3 of the price with positive ratings. Taking a chance, I ordered them, (and saved on assembly), and couldn’t be more impressed with the quality, stability, and ease of assembly. They are slightly smaller than the Magnolia Home ones, but hey for 1/3 the price, they are absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny. Overall, great price, great quality, fast shipping and easy assembly. Next time you’re at a furniture store, make sure to check if Birch Lane has a similar product! So far very happy with this purchase and value for money paid. I read up on other reviews on Birchlane ahead of purchase and can verify that the seat cushion is very comfortable, yet the back cushion could have more padding as it presents a “hollow” pocket felt as you lean back towards it. That would be the only downside with in my opinion. I was looking a long time for parsons dining chairs which had light color on the chair legs so it would match our oak dining table. Very happy how that came out, the chairs match the table perfectly and one cannot tell that table and chairs were purchased separately. Seems that the legs aren’t made of wood however, it’s some sort of plastic/fabricated material to look like wood. If you’re planning on staining it to better match your existing furniture, this may be for consideration as you won’t be able to treat the legs as wood. The upholstery is of great quality and the chairs give a high end impression. Overall very happy with the chairs, they’re overall look and comfort and value for money. Chairs are sturdy and I like the fabric except the slipcover in my opinion isn't snug or anchored enough so that it sort of slides a little bit and the pattern can get a little warped. I am pretty regularly tucking the back into the crack of the cushion to straighten it out. Would have liked to see ties or other anchors to keep it more in place around the cushion.. Lauren.
