I just got the bed set up today. It is quite substantial! I love the look and height. I haven’t slept on it yet to review any noises or shifting. I did lay on the bed and it’s a great height with the 7.5” box spring and 12” mattress on it. The tufting is nicely done and the install tracks perfectly with the instructions. I added two additional supports with legs. I think the headboard needs bigger and stronger washers, however the bracket won’t receive anything larger than what is included. The fabric is oatmeal colored (pretty) and there are some flaws in it: a run and a small hole. Neither are overly noticeable, but it would have been nice to have better quality control upfront. Especially since the return policy is so expensive and time consuming. The footboard had a stripped hole for one of the bun feet. As a result I had a carpenter engineer new bun feet and repair the footboard. I’m glad I opted for different feet, but having a stripped fastener added some drama and expense. We bought the whole set with the upholstered bed. One of the main reasons we went for it, other than the beautiful photos, was that under the details tab it says all the pieces are made of solid wood. Unfortunately, they are also clearly finished with a pretty cheap-looking veneer. It makes it look like they are made of plastic, even though they are clearly heavy, sturdy wood pieces upon inspection. I believe it does mention the veneer under the overview tab, but not under the details tab, which I thought would be more official/authoritative. Needless to say, we were disappointed that the beautiful solid wood pieces we were hoping for have a cheap-looking finish. They still look quite nice from further away, and the upholstered bed is especially pretty. I'll also mention I was not very impressed with the delivery. The set ended up coming in 3 different delivery installations, 2/3 of which were after the delivery window. Some pieces took a wild ride to get to us, based on the tracking info, which gives the impression that some logistical organization is lacking at a more fundamental level. In contrast, every time I spoke to customer service was a very pleasant and clear experience, and the representatives helped get things done that the automated systems seemed to miss.. Sara.
