These are the perfect size for pendant lighting over a kitchen island and are good quality. I replaced the too-modern ones our builder installed and these look great. I was looking for a reasonably priced version of the RH 19th C. English Openwork Lantern and after much research settled on this - I am very very pleased!! Chose satin nickel color. Light is well made. Easy to install. Was going to cover the candlesticks with white sleeves, but decided to leave them silver for now. FYI, the candles are approx. 4.75" tall, so you would probably have to order them online - two major home improvement retailers only carry them in 4". For reference, my room is approx. 10'x14' with a sloped ceiling as you can see in the photo. Light is hanging at the point where the ceiling is approx. 9' over the table. I have 4 60 watt incandescent bulbs in the fixture and it is more than bright enough for the room. I always dim it. Warning: It will look huge when you pull it out of the box, but in my room at least, once hung, it looks great! I ordered this on the phone and the salesperson was super nice. A beautiful geometric lantern-style chandelier light. The color is dark bronze, almost black. This well-made lamp is the perfect size/scale for my 18' 11" two-story foyer. A chandelier should be 2" - 3" in height for every foot of ceiling height and this light meets the criteria perfectly with style and elegance. The lamp came completely installed (other than the screw-on top for the chain and the bulbs). It arrived well-packaged in a thick cardboard box, with additional cardboard baffle inserts (to separate it from the box sides), cradled within a very substantial (i.e., 5") protective foam base. Another great feature (from a practical perspective): This minimalist lamp can be easily dusted without having to climb a ladder since there are no glass enclosure components to remove for cleaning; a simple extension rod for your duster will do the trick. Love our new fixture! The glass had a couple of small scratches, but nothing worth sending back over, so that's why I gave it a 4. The glass did have this weird fog/haze that did not go away after cleaning with window cleaner. This is a pretty light fixture (mine is a satin black) but complicated to put together a bit. That’s okay really but it’s just not an “unbox and hang” kind of fixture and because it’s large, and extra set of hands is nice. That said, it is unique and can lend to a variety of home styles. Keep in mind your bulbs are bare, candelabra base with no shade. You’ll want to choose a decorative bulb (more expensive) that is warmer so that it’s not blinding. That means this fixture should be more of an accent than primary lighting since that will look too harsh and have too many shadows. It’s lightweight which makes hanging easier.. Taral.
