It sits back a little (I use a back feather cushion in cowhide) and feels a bit stiff when you first sit down. But you sink down in to it and then it’s super comfortable. Very nice high quality leather in a l medium chocolate. It’s a bit muted with like colors like most good leather is. Bottom line…I LOVE this chair! And I put a lot of thought into it. We needed a pair of comfortable but compact swivel leather chairs for a loft space. I must have looked at a hundred options before finding these, and they are perfect, and were far less expensive than some others I was considering. They have a “return to center” function that makes the chair go back to its original position, so when the chair is swiveled, you do have to kind of hold it there, but it’s not hard. They now provide a perfect cozy seating area and are beautiful as well.
