Despite the items being unopened and within the return window, Birch Lane refused to honor the sale price or offer any adjustment. While the furniture quality is satisfactory, this rigid policy reflects poorly on their customer service. A reputable retailer would have considered the circumstances, especially given the substantial $400 difference. Well, the table and chairs were delivered 4-17-19 and are lovely , the wood is light. I’ve applied linseed oil, all went well with exceptions, two screws missing or incorrect.. Today 4-25-19 purchased standard umbrella with universal stand at Nebraska Furniture mart. Now we have a major problem as the umbrella stand will not fit under the wooden supports that attach to each leg of table. The supports have the piece of wood with circular hole connected to them, hence the umbrella pole is not allowed ( by design) to have the needed umbrella stand. This is a serious design flaw I believe, unless someone is able to instruct me to set up differently. I have just now gone back to the photos and one photo does indeed show the bottom of the pole atop the carpet ; no umbrella stand in photo.
